Dual Car Sprint, Manfeild, April 5th

Postby Leon » Sun Mar 09, 2008 3:18 pm

Saturday April 5th Harbour Capital Car Club is running a Dual Car Sprint day.

$90 entry.

Regs in word format

Entry form

So, what do you need, and what does it all cost ...

Helmet
Overalls (100% Cotton ok, Polycotton blend NOT ok, beware most work overalls are polycotton and can't be used)
Fire extinguisher .9kg+ dry powder, 2 x 6mm bolts, with big eff off panel washers under it if attached to floor, nylock nuts.
Join a car club $30 / year
Get a Clubsport Licence $60 and just fill in the form

So ... once I've done this Dual Car Sprint, what else can I do? Well, we've got an entire series of Dual and Multi Car Sprints running through the entire rest of the year.
and there's $1000 worth of prizes too
Harbour Capital Car Club 5th April 2008
Manawatu Motorsport 10th May 2008
Hutt Valley Motorsport Club 8th June 2008
Taupo Car Club in Oct or 12th October at Manfeild
Manawatu Motorsport 21st December 2008

It's a good day, we don't go mad for formality, we limit numbers so you're pretty much guaranteed more track time than your car or brain can cope with. We've had people having ten + runs during our events, so you're not just going to get out there three or four times either.

It is a motorsport nz event, so no dodgy jappa bolt in nasty "cages", and if you're running a convertable, you need MotorSport NZ approved roll protection. Cars with a permanent roof don't need roll protection.

If you're not keen to race, but want to come along and help, we can put you out on a flag marshal point with professional marshals, and they can train you up, or you can come up into the timing booth for the best view of the day, and be surrounded by a pack of lunatics all day. The best part, if you're not racing, but are helping us out, we feed and water you until you explode. Plus, we'll put you out in the passenger seat of a race car for a ride if you're keen. So in summary, you help us out on the day, we feed you, and give you a free ride in a race car .... forget a "buy a ride" day at a race track where you'll pay a couple hundred for the privilege ...

congradulations ,Leon.
that is one of the best worded essays of enticement i have seen for anyone wishing to get into either entering or helping at a motorsport event.
so good in fact, that had you copywrited it, i couldn't steal most of the wording!!!!

PS. to anyone who wishes to take up the opportunity to get involved, at clubsport level nothing should be nerve-wracking or scary.............. just bloody good fun.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

f#@k you i won't do what ya tell me

No wucking forries.

I do my best to make it as easy as possible to get involved in car club events. Sometimes I kind of run out of time, and have to rush stuff out, but I sat down and planned this post a bit better than usual 8)

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.
