Virtual Racing - F1 2008/9

Hey Ya'all, after a 2-year hibernation we've brought the Virtual Racing league back with the next series to be the Formula 1 2008/9 Virtual League. Our Virtual Racing series allows you to pick who you believe will finish in the top 3 each round of each league. You get 2 points for each correct guess, and at the end of the season you have a chance to win something.

For this league (F1 2008/9) you can win $1000 for your team if you are the winning team with the highest average (top 3 players and bottom 3 players points are added together and averaged to find the winning team. Minimum of 6 players to qualify). You must choose your team wisely. Do you go for more members to lessen the chance of a low average amongst the bottom 3 players? Or do you stick to 6 players to maximise the return per person if you win? What happens if one person keeps forgetting to play - do you have 7 players per team to cover such issues?

So, click on http://www.fortyone.co.nz/virtual.php and go for broke. (Most of you will be competing against other car clubs so represent!)

Lastly, the system is Beta (still under development) and while we have tested it for 2 previous series without error we do reserve the right to alter of fix any aspect (including team structure, conditions, prizes, banning people) as we deem necessary!

LOL! This season is going to be tough to pick though, especially the first 2 races until a pattern is sorted =] Until then I suspect it's going to be a 'fluke' if people manage to get 6/6 for the first two rounds!

Judging on testing form everyone will be picking Ferrari & McLaren. So until we see how Kovalainen shapes up, and if the Ferraris have the edge that everyone is saying they have, it's going to be a case of toss the dice for Raikkonen, Hamilton & Massa.

Melbourne is going to a tricky one to pick this year anyway, it's forecast to be very hot (>35°C) for practice and race day, and only slightly cooler(30°C) for qualifying, so reliability is going to be an issue, if not in Melbourne itself then it will show up in Malaysia the following week.
