Easter Monday Cruise

Postby Leon » Sat Mar 22, 2008 1:34 pm

10:30am in front of DVS building at the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge.

Relatively short cruise, will head out to the Hutt, through Whitemans Valley etc to finish in Upper Hutt.

Absolutely no muppet driving, or you'll get punched in the groin.

Gather post drive at a cafe for coffee etc.

nothing major wrong with it, just did 35000 km/s over the last 2 weeks and now it needs a cambelt/tensioner/waterpump replacement for it's 100,000k service, and unfortunately the normal service, gearbox and diff services are due at the same time

The only things that broke when we went away in it was a brakelight bulb and my wallet when the price of gas kept rising lol

That was fun. The coffee was welcome at Kaitoke Country Gardens. I replaced the brake rotors yesterday becuase they were warped and took the car over the rimutakas last night and the new (previously warped and now skimmed) rotors warped while still going up the hill. Have learnt a valuable lesson about not skimming anymore?!!
So...spend the early morining coming back over the rimutakas under 1/4 brake power and a toyota caldina gtt up my rear end; the cruise was soothing and uneventful also under 1/4 brake power.
Will have to install my emergency pads and rotors which have been gathering dust and rust for 2+ years. Not exactly sure how they'll work. :?
