That will more than likely round it off

Soak it in CRC. Then soak it in more CRC. Then after a while put a little CRC on it. Then use some CRC. Then when that all gets into it get it bloody hot with some oxy/acetylene and have a crack at getting it off with a decent 1/2 inch 6-point 14mm socket and big powerbar.

If you cant get it off like that then you've either broken it or you'll have to blow it out with the gas

Powerbar? sounds like the concentrated power of apples in bar form :?

Ive used a LOT of crc, and I used that freeze and release stuff today, managed to get a couple of cold fingers from it

i have a 1m metal pipe that slides over my ratchet coz i'm too poor to get a powerbar  hasnt stripped my ratchet yet either and i've bloody well tried.

you can get little bottled blow torches that are really good for heating up things like that. the heat expands the metal and hopefully makes enough gap to get it loose.

i just don't think you're angry enough yet. stubborn bolts can sense anger and only let go when they're shit scared you're about to go postal on them

Swearing is not the answer

Postby Capin-Neemo » Fri Mar 28, 2008 10:41 pm

Bolts dislike swearing they thikn its for pussys and girls! oh and disel dykes!

Get a 14mm 1/2 inch drive socket a super cheap 1/2inch power bar some big as long piece of pipe that slides over and get that leverage going the longer you can the better!

This will crack anything eventually and if all this fails maybe you bolts are metros and love hugs not swearing and yelling lolz 8O

Axe man

Postby Adoom » Sat Mar 29, 2008 3:38 am

Get out the gas axe and make it hot. Make it very very hot. Like glowing orange but not melting hot. Let it cool then crc the $&#$% out of it then it will probably come out easy as au.

as some members may recall i was having trouble with not one but two 14mm bolts a while back, seriously get yourself a powerbuilt 14mm 6 face socket, 1/2 inch drive, and assuming you have a long enough wrench it will come out with the help of crc. key is to kinda push with your left over the nut, this will keep the socket on it, and pull with your right on the handle of the wrench,

build up the force and really give it some "man-ness"

i bought a 14mm powerbuilt deep socket and it still worked, though a shallow one in my case would have been better

Bought a 14mm powerbuilt thing today with a really long handle, got back to the car and the nuts came undone as easy as anything  could nearly have done it by hand lol.
Guess all the crc and freeze and release stuff did work, just took a couple of days to fully soak through..

Didnt notice the 2 nuts on the underside of it though haha, very tight fit there, so cant get any decent leverage, then it started raining, nothing worse than lying on your back under a car with rain falling through the engine bay, and a rapidly forming puddle under you
