Any how, There were like no cars there int he C1, C2 classes etc, was a pretty poor turn out. I'm kinda fired up that I entered this thinking it was gong to be like when it was run at taupo last year. Thats the only reason why I entered, Pukekohe testing would of been much more usefull.

Watching Rod Harvey and Joe Signorelli go head to head in their Celica's was really cool to watch.

I saw the aftermath of your damage Baz, very nasty! I guess you probably get that a bit with the amount of power you're making though!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

getting locked in, was umm, entertaining 8) bloody aussies locking us in

those RIPS guys put wheely bars on for this time out, STILL pulled a massive wheely (set them up too high) and nearly hit the wall in the right hand line.

DOCILE had selector problems in the first run, sorted that for the second and some say blew a water pipe, seemed worse than that though, it looked almost like tire smoke but wasn't, came out from front left hand wheel as they tried to put power down halfway through second,

one of the guys that works there said it's got about 1200hp 8O

was a good day, and public guys got a TONNE of runs in (if they didnt' break)

good air temp, REALLY sticky track.

big ups to rod harvey for finally getting their miss? sorted, first run without it busted the 7.04@313 and backed it up with a 7.2, beating the GAS guys in both heads up runs.

pretty sure its pulled 1400whp at one of the autosalon dyno sessions.
rumour is that he's gained a fair bit more with tuning it more aggressively too. it has trouble getting everything to hold together for a complete run, usually in the launch sequence. i've seen it bog and then fly down for stupid trap speeds a few times. if he keeps going it will come eventually, but i wonder if itll be retired again after this failure.
i heard someone saying he might hav damaged the head and thats what the smoke was coming out one side.

That is a good result for Rayglass they must be getting there head around that car now and to beat the GAS Celica is no mean feat.

Docile they never seem to get that car going like it should I've only seen the car run twice but it just does'nt seem to come out of the hole like it should though it does get really good trap speeds.I remember at one stage they were talking about beating John Sheppards record but they just did'nt seem to get there.

it has potential, i reckon they need to adapt a full sequential box to it 8)

but man, on the first run, nailed it, got off the line good but couldn't hook second, slowed down got it into second, put foot down, and holy fark, the hole front nearly lifts off the ground and goes, until he can't hook third, so backed out of the run.

has ALOT of potential to be seriously quick.

Potiential you are right on the money there but they have had this for quite awhile now and still no cigar.

Cool footage of the Rayglass Celica as well it looked pretty hooked up there I wonder how much is left in that car?? Time will tell I guess.

i'd say DOCILE is the most aggressive accelerating car out of all the pro-imports. the 2 quick GTR's are similar to watch, but the evo just seems that much pore powerful in person. one day itll all go right for them and theyll bust out an amazing time.

There's only so many opportunities for full power runs throughout the year, unfortunately very few down this end of the island. I can imagine that something will click one day and it'll be sweet.

oi, dont mock the starlet :D

and yeh 8 cars in c2 was a pretty poor turnout. but got plenty of runs on a sticky track due to lack of cars.
pitty about barry breaking driveshafts, those new tyres must be working well though!

broke cv, not driveshafts, they are custom and have been in there for ages now :D. THe new tyres were awesome the first meeting I used them, since then i havent been able to hook up like I did. I was running 11.0s backing off crossing at 190k the first time i used them, now i'm only running 11.2s going hard all the way

Your probably right though but I'm not holding my breath as this car has been fully developed over 3-5 years now and still has'nt shown its full potiential.Well the engine has but there's something just not right there and I can''t put my finger on it.

I gotta say the runs DOCILE did do it really did look like it got out of the hole well, if it had stayed together for those runs it would have been cracking times. It LOOKED to me quite a bit nastier than the 8s rotaries that were running all day, and thats first 1/2 track nasty (seeing as it didn't make the full run) so hadn't even hit where that car really tends to shine. I can't help but feel it has very near a 7, if not one the first time it actually gets to cross the finish line under acceleration.

Everyone is reporting RIPS as 8.8 but they did back to back 8.7s....

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it, but the Celica had another major off this weekend- sounds worse than last time. I've not heard how Joe came out of it - no one has said anything bad happened to him but it sounds like the shell is a write off and the chassis is in need of repair as well. Fingers crossed they get on top of it :o
