it stepped out going onto the back straight, hooked it back the otherway, sideways onto the grass, still on it to try and catch it, then shot straight across the track into the wall.

from looking at it i'd say about 70-80 maybe,

The 2nd placed GTR was an R33 GTR with around 420kws, how bad was the damage?

The fastest car of the day was the black R32 GTR (525kw) but it blew 3rd gear on the 2nd to last corner on it's hot lap. It did 1:01's during practice. Full credit to Scott for showing everyone how to do it again - even on an unfamiliar circuit 8)

Very impressed with the Levin (Barry?)....I certainly didnt think a FWD could ever be that fast around there 8O

he reckoned about 40kph when i spoke to him, it's mostly cosmetic damage, didn't burst the radiator or oil coolers.

Thats good, the owner is a good bugger..........I was actually picking him for the win but he really didnt have the power/weight ratio to do it

I was told it was the car to beat also, he did bloody well in a non caged full weight road car and a bloody shame he bent it.

There was talk that one of the skylines, i'm not sure which was tuned by Soichi and makes 580kw atw?

for the record....EVO88U made 404kw atw at 2.2 bar boost on the dyno but couldn't run it at the track due to spark problems.
Boost was backed off to just under 2 bar and dwell increased to boost spark so was probably making around 380kw on the day.

I think well driven the car would be capable of lapping in the 60 second range.
Data logger showed 279kph(oops) top speed which was a little surprising (and scary) too. 8O

Yeah that was the black 32 next to you in the pits........busted 3rd gear on it. T51 Kai and HKS 2.8/GT block. Think he's slowly building up the car and his driving ability before he goes into Super GT.

If only Dave had his brown Supra ready - would have been good to see him peddlin that beast around Puke!

Congrats on the win Scott, sub 60's next year should be too far away 8)

Haha - oh well, so much for an event any street car can have a go at.

Well, I guess nothing stops you having a go - but bragging rights might be "i was the fastest car behind the guys making 400kw!"

huge effort barry, ya did us all proud

shows the benefits of power-weight ratio that you run that fast with only a measly 260kw

omg at 289km on the datalogger, thats crazy fast, musta been hitting the anchors bloody hard after that.

isnt dirks evo a 9sec car too? huge effort to run a 9 sec 1.4 and those competitive track times.

Dirks is a high 10s street car, does all his events with full interior, pump gas, and WOFable street tires. Is an awesome beast. That R33 GTR doing 1:02.8 is AWESOME - looked fully like something that could have just pottered onto the track.

Well done Bazda, thats an insane performance on that track fullstop - let alone with a FWD, let alone an old 80s Corolla!!!

I think we shouldnt forget the rwd levin as well, think he was a good contender for Scott! I think he did a 1.04 after someone pulled out in front of him.
