Would you pay $58K for an MR2???

This is NOT a genuine Ferrari but a replica of a 355. There is a great amount of detail and genuine Ferrari parts that have gone into this vehicle, --- even real Ferrari owners think it to be genuine on a first glance.

The car has an MRII chassis and engine, but has quite a few genuine Ferrari accessories such as brakes, steeringwheel and gearstick for example. Personally I have found this to be very useful, as parts for an MRII are MUCH cheaper and easier to obtain, than real Ferrari ones! This saves a lot of money and time!

There has been a great attention to detail by the person who built this car, especially in the interior, with even the seat headrest having the Ferrari logo embossed into the leather.

Soundwise, the car has been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust pipe, so that it even sounds similar to a real Ferrari.

This car has been lowered and complies with the NZTS standards and requirements. It's handles really well, and while it doesn't have the top speed of a real Ferrari, let's face it, in NZ there is not much point! The only difference here between going 120km and 180km is the amount of your speeding fine and demerit points!!!

Current Registered Valuation of the vehicle is $65,000 done by a registered valuation company.

As far as I am aware, this car is the only one like it in the country -- but even if there is another, I doubt that it will be as well finished as this one.

For someone that would love to own a Ferrari, but can't afford the cash (or doesn't want to have that much money tied up in a vehicle) this is the next best thing! It looks and sounds enough like real thing, that the average person is unlikely to know it's not!

Any questions, feel free to email me.

the best part is how they always put the horse shield on the front quarter panels - but I believe only the very high end track ferraris get that?
probably the easiest way to spot a replica.

I wouldn't pay $58k for an MR2 that looked like a Ferrari and went like an MR2.
I'd pay $58k for an MR2 that looked like an MR2 and went better than a Ferrari.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I could be wrong but we had this car (or very similar) at work a couple of years ago for a valuation. The guy didnt like what he was told and left in a big hurry - Well as fast and the 3S could move a fairly slow car with masses of fibreglass bolted to it.

He spent some insane amount of money on it, and got told he'd be lucky to get about a third of that back if he sold it. A lot of the panel work was pretty average too when you got up close. He paid thousands for kit, but it still looked really wavey and horrible - and red paint is not very pretty when the prep is bad, read orange peel etc...

LOL!!!
Sounds about right...I also checked with one of the valuers at work, and he said he would be lucky to give it a third of the value hahhahaha.

I noticed that the guy has relisted it on tard me for $10k less, so its now listed at $49k
