Oh right, I was looking in the wrong place I only have minor surface rust there but I just blew the fuse for the lights in the garage so will have a closer look tomorrow.

oh, and the bit thats at the bottom of that pillar and runs forward.

if it really is rust free everywhere else, then its worth paying to get that gaping mess fixed properly

Yeah it does seem to be remarkably rust free, this is just an inadequate repair that lead to this unfortunate gash.

to be sure take a flat head screwdriver and stab various parts of the car, if the screwdriver goes through then its rusty, if it doesnt it will most probably crack the paint causing more rust

Unfortunatly, its just a way of life with AW's. If you're going to be a fan, you'd better be a big one willing to put up with the expence of fixing rust.

It a shame that they're so prone to it. They're great lil cars.

If you're looking at places in Chch Ollie, then I recommend getting a quote from Hesson and Bowry, off Lincoln rd. They fixed the rusty firewall on my gfs' EP71 for considerably cheaper than anywhere else, and did a pretty spot-on job with paperwork and pics to show the wof man.

thats one thing i've always liked about landrover - all their vehicles come standard with copious oil leaks, really helps keep underbody rust down.

great feature for an offroader that sees alot of time in mud n water.

I love my trueno but it has specs of rust that make me parnoid from narm. Doesnt help it lives outside too (which cuts me a little inside).
