Rust Proofers

Postby soven » Thu Apr 17, 2008 4:19 pm

Anyone has experience dealing with professional rust proofers? Planning to rust proof the aw11 and deciding if I should go buy an air compressor and diy or let a rust proofer do it. I started wit fish oil in a spray can but I cant get to certain crucial areas. I rang a rust proofing place a wile ago and was quoted around $500 .

I recall some of them do offer a guarantee but not sure how that works really. Recommend me some reputable rust proofers or ones that I can trust.

i got some stuff for my ke from a paint supplier through work . ( linkup) its a converter and make the rust less reactive to stop it from spreading,

i cant recall the name but will find out for you tomorrow,

but basically you remove the loose scaley rust , (leave a small amount of surface rust so the converter has something to react and work with) and apply it, it goes on a creamy colour and turns black when it is dry , it is also a primer so you can give it a light sand and put a top coat straight over it , and works great , ( i was always prone to putting a pa10 over top of it just to be safe)

they both sound like Kilroy(i think) its called, I used to use it when I worked as a painter at local freezing works. Seemed to do the trick.
