right front speaker turns off then handbrake pulled on

umm, yeah, as per the subject.

I have a 2001 Altezza (RS200Z if it matters), and when the handbrake is pulled on, the right front speaker produces no sound. Left front, and rears are fine.

Release handbrake, and sound comes back 99% of the time, and the 1% that it doesn't, it comes back within 5-10 seconds anyway.

Any ideas?

my thoughts are that the cable to the right front speaker is caught on the handbrake cable somehow, and if you pull the handbrake, it pulls the speaker cable enough to disconnect it, but I'm really clueless.

hmm, I had similar problem when I was swapping stereos around, there is an extra plug at the back of factory unit when you plug it in the right speaker disappears... I never tested if it was connected with handbrake, as originally I thought it was faulty stereo, until I forgot to plug in that connector back and noticed the right speaker works..
