ra25;s are very very rare - i know of only 3 in australia that are still driving for instance !

I see your thinking about putting a 1uz in it? hmm - with such a rare care , is it worth modifying it with retro engine swaps - or would it be better to find a less rare ra28 say , and doing it with that ??

if it is that rare, then keep it fully original other than things that can be easily changed back, but keep all original parts.

I wondered when it would turn up :D

I have the only other one (actually a TA27 - same bodyshell) that i know of in NZ

I assume your car the yellow one?

Personally i'd stick to the 18R-G but thats my opinion.

I'd keep the 18R-G in there too.

RA25 = so desireable, I'd even roll one over a gen TA22 GT/GTV personally.

whats the condition of the car?

being so rare, if its not complete or is in a little bit of a sad state, reviving it with modifications maybe the best way to save it.

The car wa pretty bad it had been sitting for 5 years outside so there is a lot of metal work that needs replacing. I have to put in a new floor and the body was full of bog and the engine was stuffed that is the reason why I am heavily modifying it. Parts for this vehicle is like trying to find a needle in a haystack I have been trying lots of different places but to no avail.

needle in a haystack alright!!

I have amassed a lot of parts in the 12-13 years of owning mine - let me know of anything specific you need and i might be able to help. I have very little in the way of RA25 specific parts but a lot of general parts.

You dont by any chance have a RA28/23 bonnet? The bonnet I have is fiberglass and I really need to have a metal one but I want the one with a bonnet buldge as I am supercharging my 1uz so it needs to have a little more clearance.

From my understanding from what I have been reading in my research is that because of the larger engine they had a slightly longer engine bay and would mean that the bonnet would be longer as well. Am I incorrect in this assumption? As it doesnt specify that the RA25 is any different from the RA28 apart from certain different body changes between the years. I always thought that the RA series were different to the TA series because of the engine size. Is there anyone else that can help me with this?

The RA25 was a bit of an in-between model which used a lot of the TA22 chassis and interior bits but was close to the RA28 in shape. From the windscreen forward is unique to the RA25(and TA27) with exception that one of the american models (RA22 i think) has a earlier flat type bonnet and guards that will bolt on but are totally different. Sent you a PM btw

still it is quite a bit of a difference would the TA22 bonnet have the same problem then because I know of a bonnet in Wellington that I can get for a good price. I really need to get a metal bonnet, even though the fiberglass one i have has been done o.k. this is going to be a show car so I need it to be bang on.
Anyone else got any soultions to my problem?
