AE82 bits..

Postby RS13 » Tue Apr 29, 2008 10:05 pm

Hi guys,

Dads' faithful old AE82 sedan (5spd, 4A carb) has finally failed its' last wof due to emissions, after almost 23 years of ownership.. I'm taking it to the wrecker and dereging it Friday or Saturday, if you're after any parts, let me know, ideally parts that won't stop it being driven, or parts I can take off easily.

Cheers. :)

He just doesn't want to spend anything on it. It should have been retired a long time ago, the rust has been "borderline" for the last couple of years, the starter is dying, the body is shot and it needs a new clutch badly, which alone would cost more than what the car is worth! Also, it has done 267,000km.

I did have plans to silvertop it, but after having a decent look, it's more work than I can be bothered with. It's just too tired.

Lol. Its' okay, you can literally breathe easier now that its' off the road. ;) Was quite emotional.. had a quick photoshoot in the hail even! All us kids learnt to drive in it, back in the day I'd bring it home late a few fridays suspiciously covered in diesel.. it had been stolen and recovered.. yet only ever had cambelts, tyres and a single clutch replacement!

Old Toyotas are the best! :)
