i've seen plenty of hondas running very well long after 200ks.

better than alot of toyota engines even.

Seconded. My last SiR Civic had 250,000km on the clock, still pulled hard, used no oil and blew no smoke whatsoever.

I can't be stuffed reading what others said, but here it is:
1) do cam belt,water pump, oil seals (including back one, o-ring on distributor, o-ring seal on the oil filter sandwich), clutch (if manual), service the engine and gearbox (replace seals on the gearbox as well).
2)keep driving it for another 200+ k (and servicing every 5k).

First point is optional as it will cost you as much as the car is worth to do.

Cambelt coming up for replacement soon. (20k to go)

I think you missed the point. What's wrong with your engine now? why do corrective work on something that doesn't need it? etc etc.

I just want to know if a 204k engine is going to sh.t itself in the near future. That high of k's imo is pretty high.

Found out my car did over 40k in one year by the previous owner.

You really can't set a rule as to how long a motor is going to last. Things like

How often/good was the oil replaced?
Has it had any electrical issues which might mess with the tune??
Who drove it and what kind of driving has it been subjected to?
How was it run in?
What fuel was it run on?
What environment??

Its like pointing at someone randomly on the street who looks roughly 40 and saying "How long will he live?" knowing full well that some people don't even make it to 40, and others pass 100.... and you can't always tell which one is going to be which.

Well, if it does not make any knocking (besides valve clearances and VVT pulley) and it is not sludged, if it is serviced regularly then it will last almost forever.
4AGEs are good engines.

My SR16VE expired at 270K and I'm currently struggling around town in a Sprinter rental monster with 178K on the clock and it runs surprisingly well.
