Been there seen that too, and asked about it when we were there at Xmas,

Wont let you put it into a road car, only a boat or a container, and was about $2 a litre back then.

Relating to this topic, it seems the backyarder AE82 is going to be on the cover of the next Zoom magazine :D Rather awesome, look forward to that coming out.

method wrote:I was simply saying i prefer to drive cars which are nice and drivable, usually bigger displacement engines without stupidly big turbos. which is the opposite to most jap cars. Friends dad has a slightly modified 911, 996 turbo. Awesome awesome car to drive.

That was an awesome little outburst, hope you felt better after it? I fully understand what you mean by having a personal preference to how a car drives, I was focussing on the post where you said "winner is the one with the highest and flattest torque "curve"" - as there is a big misconception that a car which meets that rough rule is the best overall performing. What you prefer and was is quicker are two different things, and given you said "Winner" I guess I assumed you were focussing on best performing, as opposed to matching your personal preference.

Its very flattering that you think that my car has the best power delivery out there etc, despite Bazdas making more power over a better powerband. Its quite nice considering I don't even consider that and just used it as a rough example of something with visible (on dyno) lag yet maintains good streetability and a very useable powerband. The car has heaps to be sorted out with the current set up and leaves much to be desired, relative to its potential.

Thankyou, were all pretty happy with it, a few little things to sort but yeah really stoked
Specs are:
Long motor
20 valve silver top block drilled and tapped for a block drain, Arp main studs
Brandnew crank
Aw11 gze rods, resized, Arp rod bolts
ACL Race series man and bigend bearings
Aw11 4agze 8.0:1 pistons modifided to clear bore squiters.
20 valve oil pump
Smallport head with extensive porting, ill post a pic of the flow chart when I get another copy.
Custom ground billet cams with a lot of lift and a lot of duration
Performance Springs valve springs which have been shimmed up a little
1.5mm oversize ex valves and standerd inlets
Custom made vernier cam gears
TRD steel shim head gasket

Custom made inlet manifold
Custom made exhaust manifold
GT3071r precsion turbo
Tial 38mm wastegate
550cc rx7 injectors and a modifed fuel reg (thanks Al :)) for a bit more fuel pressure
Rx7 s6 fuel pump
Link lem G3 ecu also doing boost control, which incase anyones wondering works perfectly
ST205 gt4 water to air intercooler, which is curently letting us down a bit as far as inlet air temps go but got some ideas to fix that
Ae92 4agze flywheel and 4 puck plate with heavyduty cover

All the porting and flowbench work done by Mark Pawsey, 0272327462, couldnt ask for a beter job and a great guy to deal with:)

So yeah theres nothing that special in it, having a really good tuner is a very big part,Being an engine builder for a job helps keeps costs down and having a few good mates that live and breath engines is always a good thing to!
