Best way to remove gay stickers on a car

Postby Warren » Wed Jun 11, 2008 9:03 am

Hey all,

I want to remove a sticker on the back of my wagon. It's really gay. Some japanese toyopet sticker. A little bigger than the size of a pocket knife I supose. I've always wanted to remove it but keep forgetting about it.
What the best/easiest way to get rid of it?

Thanks,
Warren

It depends where it is on the car, if it is on glass you can use a razor blade and clean the residue of with some automotive paint thinners or eucalyptus oil. If it is on the body try using a heat gun and gently pull it off then use the eucalyptus oil to clean it up. The eucalyptus oil doesnt damage the paintwork but takes that sticky stuff off.

get a heat gun heat the thing up then use a blade or fingernail to start it pull it off very slowly and carefully, dont worrie about the glue after you remove the sticker get some wax and greaser remover and use a rag to remove the glue.

Opps forgot to mention it's on the body. Just below the tail light.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give it a go.

Heaps better by the way. Hopefully I won't get sick anymore. Went back to work on Monday.
But I've got the next week off from tomorrow for study leave because of exams haha.

P.S. if you use a heat gun, dont hold it to close to the paint work for to long! Otherwise the paint starts to bubble.

I had big stickers on my car and i used a hairdryer to soften them up then peeled them off. Be careful with sharp objects near paintwork!

Gave it a cut and polish after too, could try some scratchX or similar. Will help get rid of the colour difference if the paint around has faded a little.

Thanks man. I'll try and scab my sisters hair dryer or something this weekend. Got plenty of cut and polish etc too.
