I've used T1R's for the last couple of sets on the Bananawagon. Just have to keep on top of rotation otherwise the fronts get eaten. Good in the wet and dry.

My01. Unimpressed.
Direzzas. Average.
Grid 3. Average.

^ It stands to reason they'd replace them with a superior product though, does it not?

On my Corolla BZ Touring...

Goodyear NCT5s are evil...I went through a set in 15,000kms... (about 3 months)

Replaced with Nankang NS2s which seem a lot better for a similar price, will probably last a similar mileage, but a lot better grip inbetween.

Now that I'm using the car only for 25km + trips will replace with Direzzas

I'd be interested in the opinions and experiences of others - in particular I'm tossing up Dunlop Direzza vs. Bridgestone MY-01.

My Experiences:
* Dunlop Direzza - Great tyre, good grip, bit of road noise. Good value for money.
* Bridgestone Potenza G3 - Excellent tyre, excellent grip, lots of road noise. Not worth the extra $50 per tyre over a direzza.
* Hankook Ventus - Poor tyre, poor grip, loads of wall movement. Stayed on the car for 2 days before I traded them. Aweful, would never by them again.
* Yokohama Advans - Good tyre, good grip, little road noise. A weee bit of wall movement.

pretty weird tread pattern on those adrenalines.... when we first got some in i thought they'd cocked up and sent us all one side instead of left and right

Caldina GTT (Manual, 3SGTE Turbo). The car is used for weekend driving and holidays - so long trips up and down state highways and windy corners near the coast.

For the price and application you can hardly go past the direzza, otherwise if you are the kind who likes to push their car a little more the new f1 will be available later this month.

Toyo Proxes on the front (not sure on exact spec)
Some cheap as rainmaster's or something on the back.

205/40/17's on AE111. They were on the car when i got it, the rears seem to grip ok but i still do not have great trust in them.

From what I know they are still being made, but only in China now rather than Germany and the quality isn't the same...

There the odd sizes that still gets made in Germany though...

Currently got Toyo Proxies Vimode on Thinass. Have to say they're an excellent tyre. Difficult to break traction in the wet. Great for MR2's.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Hmmm... just found a cheap supplier of Eagles.

That begs the question:
GOODYEAR F1 GS-D3 ($200 ea)
**or**
Dunlop Direzza DZ101 ($199 ea)

I've had the direzza before which means I know what to expect. I've heard good things about the eagle though.

I've haven't heard much good news about the MY-01 so that is out of the equation now.
