intercooler mounting

Postby NOLAW » Fri Jun 20, 2008 1:30 pm

what are your guys thoughts on intercooler mounting, like do you prefer the stealth mounting where you cant see it or do you like it hanging out proud where everyone can see it?

just curious on what your thoughts are as im thinking ov mounting my intercooler out the front of my KE20 but that would mean i may needa chop a bit of my valance out (dont worry iv got spares and im not chopping the bumper, grill etc)

your thoughts and opinions would be good

cheers 8)

I'll see what I can find in the aussie mags at home... they seem to be big fans of hanging super tall ICs out the front to catch on things.

personally i'd have it as hidden as possible, without compromising its effectiveness/performance too much..

yeah reason for maybe having it out the bottom is coz i have a few spair valences so was thinking could chop one up and leave the others factory incase i change my mind later, where if i mounted it like HRTs id need to chop the garnish and i dont have a decent spare so yeah.

if am to chop the valence though id get it notched out properly and re-shaped to look like a factory shape around the intercooler rather than a rugged angle grinder cut out

i like it hanging out the bottom a little on cars like a 20, definitely not cut into the grill, think that's ugly

I prefer the hidden or sleeper look.
Looks awesome I reckon. I hate seeing cars with massive intercooler on their cars. I think it spoils it. "Oooohh look at me, my intercooler is bigger than yours, I'm cooler and faster"

Hidden man, they look horrible with the hanging out. Just about every aussie car has their old school stuff with big I/Cs hanging out the bottom and they all look sh*te
