IH8TEC wrote:pfft, why port a small port when you can start with big ports already

the shape of the small port inlet runner is a better base to start with than the big port, its not all about runner entry size, contry to popular belief the big port head is actually smaller in the crictical choke point on the short turn radius and therefore will hit sonic choke and become quite restrictive.

Man thats a whole lotta power for 550cc injectors!! I guess "a bit more pressure" is a LOT more pressure?

Is that atw or flywheel? Eitherway awesome result 8)

Have seen 550s go past 460whp on an sr20 with fuel pressure, and yeah that was atw on mine.
Heres the dyno sheet as promised

what about the KE70 in the current NZPC mag, 331kw at rear wheels? (not sure if that figure is with nitrous or not tho)

A. its not NOS, its nitrous  (pet peeve, so sue me)
B. Nitrous is entirely not the same as adding a turbo, they work in totally different ways. One is mechanical, one is chemical, you dont have to go to the shop and buy more turbo after 2 minutes (well hopefully you dont!)and you can't use nitrous whenever you feel like it.

I think he means as N2O is a power adder in the same way a turbo is. Rather than a "pure" NA engine.

Mines stock internals, No fancy rods and just toyota ze pistons, Be really keen to see a dyno plot and learn a little more about the engine for sure, be keen to see a plot of the boost curve as well because mines fairly laggy with GT3071r and that had supposedly a GT3582r which is a fair bit bigger. Very well done though. Will have to lean on mine a bit harder now, If I could get a decent intercooler in there it would bring it up bit, then theres always C16

That is what a lot of guys are using, stock internals, good H/G and head job then a lotta boost.

talk to kent as he uses nitrous on just about all the cars he builds.

with the wagon, he can rev it out to 10,000rpm which helps him a bit with the big turbo.

10 grand aye, thats pretty impressve stuff, Need some pretty serious head work and giant cams to be still making power up that high and id stay oversize buckets to be able to take a cam with that much lift, Just beacuse and engine will rev that hard dosn't mean it will make power anywere near that, Be keen to know about the oil pump and such as well. Does anybody know the guy who owns that red dx, would really like to chat to him and swap ideas. I presume the nitrous is just there to help spool the turbo???
