I thought I might catch the ferry over and go have a look :D

I reckon it's brilliant that just one group of unhappy people can make an entire city grind to a halt

While I support what they are protesting about, I would kinda rather them take out their frustration on parliament rather than f**king with me and 150,000 or so people who are just tryna make a living.
In saying that it will be a sight to behold,

i'm all for it, personally i can't believe Labour didn't think something like this through a little better with an election rolling up so soon. this is going to grab major attention and most people seem to sympathise with the truckies (myself included) so the government is going to take the lump of the blame.

just glad i can avoid the problem by going to work 10 minutes early.

cheers
Matt

Oh believe me I am pissed at the government, the fact that they launch kiwirail followed by a hike in RUC's is effin terrible.
The government is acting more and more like a business, In business that would be like insider trading. Changing the market to suit your enterprises.
And now I hear that petrol can raise another 10 cents as the government is asking local bodies to tax petrol to pay for roads.

But now I am also pissed at the truckies, maybe not as much but still a little bit, because I didnt get to lie in this morning. Now my friday = 2 hours more at work  :D

All I was tryna say is that while the truckies feel they are proving a point, itd be nice if it was more directly imposed on the current government.
I know what you mean though, I just hope that this election National can f*ck labour in the poo chute and win a landslide election, after failing so miserably last time round.
That then begs the question will National have the balls/ability to right some of labours wrongs? Or will they just cop out and say well we didnt make that rule.

I can see fanshawe st from my desk. All hunky dory at the moment. Maybe the north shore truckies are running late. I did get stuck behind a 3-wide rolling block doing 10-20kmph between mt wellington and greenlane. Managed to get past when the motorway went to 4 lanes. Bastards.

The protest in Palmy is a sight to behold, the whole ring road is nose to tail with trucks, 2 lanes wide

My office looks over the nelson street offramp, pretty chocker with trucks but they are only taking one lane, and cops are directing traffic - stopping the trucks onto nelson street

Auckland = complete anticlimax. They seem reluctant to block anything. Traffic flowing freely.
Didn't bring my camera in, so cell phone ftw.

Theres absolutely no traffic flow from the southern to northern, must be fully blocked.

Nelson st offramp from south is empty, plenty of trucks coming from out west
