ae92 gtz exhaust over temp warning

Postby rollaholic » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:12 am

ok well - car is AE92 gtz. terrible exhaust has been fitted at some stage, the cat removed and the over temp sensor chopped off and tossed away. the wires have been twisted together, but the light is permanently on.

is this sensor connected to the ECU, or is it purely a warning light? what kind of resistance range does it operate in at normal temps? how have people dealt with it in the past? (pull the bulb?)

cheers

Just a warning light I think.
You just need to leave the sensor out. But on some cars you need to twist the wires together to get rid of the light.

i would leave the sensor out if it were still attached to the car, but it got binned long before i got my hands on it.

the wires are twisted together, working on the assumption that its normally an NTC thermister i presumed that the lack of resistance was causing the light to come on.

Then untwist/cut them off and see if the light goes away
