Speedtech Dyno??

Postby atmosports » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:42 pm

Heard a rumour that Speedtech's dyno has gone or is going, can anyone shed any more light on this or confirm deny. Came from as good a source as all the TKR rumuors so figure it must be close to correct.

Any other recommendations for a dyno down that way as I migt be needing one down there soonish.

The rumour's probably pretty wrong given my car was on that very dyno yesterday, with a whole bunch of other cars lined up to be tuned etc on it. Not sure what the rumours are but talking to Andre etc but all looked pretty business as usual there to me.

Our dyno is very much alive and well :D

We were down to 2WD for a couple of weeks while our dyno was upgraded to the latest specs.

As Lith said, we just ran 14 cars for the clubsub dyno day on sat, so business as usual.

How differently does the Speedtech Dyno read compared to Chequered Flags Dynapack as I'm quite curious to no.With them both being the same brand i'm guessing they should'nt be to dis-similar in what HP readings they both give unless they use different software or are set-up different. Please feel free anyone to correct if the above statements are in correct.

Figure that gets thrown around is something crazy like 10 to 15% atw more at Chequered Flag. For example, years ago when I had my trueno tuned Andre said that there was a definite difference due to software/version.

Reason he said it was because he was comparing my first tune/power figure with a friend of mine who's car made a similar figure but was done when speedtech used Cheq Flags dyno.

But in saying that, its quite possible cheq flag or both have upgraded the software.

It'd be interesting to do a back to back comparison but does it really matter?

It probably doers'nt matter to much as it was the first time my car has been on the Speedtech dyno and I was just curious to see how different the figures would be though I also have been told that the Speedtech Dyna-pack does read lower. The probably only way to find out is go back and run it on the Chequered Flag Dyno with the piggy back ecu I just had installed and tuned at Speedtech.

HKS F-Con V PRO which was tuned at Spoeed-tech and after doing some mileage yesterday Wairarapa,Dannivirke and back down state highway 1 back to WGTN I'll have to say the car feels really good just seems to make the power alot easier just alot crisper throughout the whole rev range and feels real clean I don't no how else to describe it actually but I'm thinking its $$$$ well spent because I was alittle sceptical but after the drive I am totally satisfied.

awesome to get great results. my soarer did about 220 rwkw on that dyno at 13 psi on 95 octane, and 255-260rwkw at 19 psi on 110 octane. stock turbos, hks cams, auto trans. HKS f-con iS piggy back.i have a thing called a hks navigator pro, that can display readings from the ECU(fits the iS and the V Pro)if you wanted to borrow it. its not working on my car at present, andre must have locked my ecu somehow, and i hardly ever get to welly to get him to make it work.look up the navigator on google, and if you're interested let me know.

Cheers yeah its been off the road for 3 months so I chalked up some serious Kms yesterday.

Blake I have'nt seen the sheet yet but my car did between 315-320 KW@19 psi with a mix of 98/Avgas on the Speed-tech Dyna-pack.I have the U.S/U.K Spec turbo's,injectors and cams and all the BPU upgrades,my car is a Auto aswell. Also Steve Murch rebuilt my old turbos as well so the car is feeling really good at the moment.I am hoping to get back to Manfield on the 20th of September to see how good the car is really going. As I mentioned earlier the power just seems more effortless and feels especially good up top just feels endless.

My car has done 271rwkw on Speedtech's dyno, 280rwkw on Chequered Flag's dyno and 262rwkw on Roskilda's rolling road dyno - all with a very similar state of tune... within maybe 2 months of all runs. Maybe slight differences (14.5psi +/- a max of 1psi) in boost but nothing major.

I think Chequered Flags may read a little more than Speedtech's but I don't think the difference is enough to make it seem like its a wildly different car.

Yeah your probably right I did'nt think there would be much different the most my car has seen on the Chequered flag dyna-pack is 323 KW before we put the F-Con in the car.I think the car is definitely going better now for sure.
