Oxygen Sensor

Postby Caribeena » Sun Jul 06, 2008 11:12 pm

hey guys,
I'm needing to replace my oxygen sensor on a 4age 20v blacktop, and instead of paying for a toyota genuine item ($350-500)and replacing it with either a Bosch, Denso or Tridon item (under $100)
Has anyone used any of the above? if so what was the part number?...i've tried searching but everywhere only comes up with 4afe or 7afe items

Thanks,
Mike

i think they are pretty universal, 2 types a one wire and a 3 wire. look at the 4afe one its probally the same.

PM matt dunn, he can source ngk ones cheapish i think.

Surely the toyota genuine ones are denso ones? so if they're selling denso cheaper that doesn't make sense, except if they're trying to screw over the customer
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

Damn, that's very handy to know Acesniper.
My Blacktop had the poo flat spot. Damn if only I had known about that Bosch one sooner.
I'm looking at buying a Blacktop soon, so i'llbe changing the O2 sensor right away I'd say:)

Good work AceSniper :!:

thats awesome Ace... will be following that if the one i've ordered doesn't come with flange..
Bosch direct replacement is 0258005728 but Bosch themselves don't stock it, Pacific Wholesale Electrical do however but won't have any until late august at $130

Tridon also do one TOS022 which is direct fit.

Have ordered a Tridon one so will see what it's like when i receive it.

rwd_mayhem.. the 20v has a 4 wire o2 sensor, compared to a 2 wire one on a 4afe.

All the catalogues at ripco and supercheap only mention the 4afe and 7afe not a 4age in any Corolla or Sprinter. Was a mission tracking down the above numbers!

you can buy heaps of parts that are identical to genuine articles, they just dont come in the fancy toyota packaging or w/e. pan pacific is a good source for that kind of stuff.
