Spacers for cert and wheel repairs

Postby samlloyd » Sat Jul 12, 2008 6:13 pm

Im going to take my car for a cert with 15's on, the fronts need spacers to clear the caliper, but that back is ok without. Can it still be certed with only spacers on front?

Also, my Advan RG 17" rim has a bad crack around one spoke, pity because the wheels are white. Are these repairable?

I don't see why you can't certify just front spacers, i'm sure its the case all the time. Only spacers on front or rear that is.

A big crack in a mag is never going to have a good outcome :( small cracks are repairable, but I think you might be out of luck. A wheel repairer would take 2 secounds to let you know either way tho, so best ask a pro about that.

The trouble of paying for the spacers, get them welded on (IIRC it needs to be "Secure" in a way that it cannot be removed, like welding it on), and then pay for a cert, why not just get replacement wheels with a better offset?

it's gonna be like $150 for spacers, $150 to get them welded on, $350+ for the cert, and then you'll have to repair your cracked wheel, that's a lotta $$$.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Ive got the spacers sitting around akane.

But you are right, i think ill have to get another set of 17s to get it certed with. The Advan RGs are the correct offset, and i was going to use these, but one spoke is cracked, making them $&#$%.

So ill have to get another set of 17s, aswell as me having a set of advans and a set of 15in stock wheels.

Enough skid tyres?!

BA Standard falcon 17s might be the go.

I usually just bolt the spacers to the disc hat or to the inside of the mag.
Using countersunk screws, few M4 ones.
