Cleaning chrome mags

Postby trdtrueno » Thu Aug 07, 2008 10:18 pm

hi guys, ive got some pretty dirty 17inch chrome wheels that need some decent cleaning. after all the rain and not being washed for a while the dirt and sh*t on the mags have become hard to clean off......so was wondering if anyone had some hints or tips as to cleaning them well??the normal car wash liquid (amourall) has taken some dirt off but the harder stuff still sticks. i have some chrome polish, although it does a good job it takes forever to take everything off, so any help would be appreciated cheers

have you tries bug/tar remover? I'm not totally sure if this would hep as an aside from blingy's response. Probably not so much a job for your mag polish but a mag wheel cleaner........

Get some proper mag wheel cleaner. That stuff works a treat.

Try and find the stuff in the silver squirty/spray bottle with the blue lables.

Spray the stuff on and give it a scrub with a brush of some sort and hose it off.

:P

Edit:

Just make sure you actually get proper cleaner for chrome. Have seen what happens to wheels when the incorrect product is used... unless you want shadow chrome that is
