altezza gita rwd or 4wd??

Postby pureadrenalin » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:00 am

I've been thinking about getting one of these for the wife as her daily driver, and for me to use when I need it for towing the race car.
She currently has a toyota secptor, but I find this a bit 'floatie' to drive, the steering is sooooo light, and I think the rear suspension is too soft to put any substantial weight on it like a trailer would. Its also fwd.
For the altezza's, the rwd is a 5 speed auto tiptronic, so at least i can drop gears easily. The 4wd is a 4 speed auto, no tiptronic.

My questions are, do you think these are ok tow cars?
Would the 4wd be better/worse than the rwd for towing?
Do these cars have problems with anything inparticular?

On a side note, I have heard people describe these 6 cylinders as 'lasy', and after taking one for a test drive, I can agree.
Given that the secptor is a 3ltr, and the altezza gita is a 3ltr I wasn't expecting much difference in power, but aparently the altezza has an extra 20kw over the secptor. It dosn't feel like it.
Put your foot down in the secptor and the ass-ometer gets a little kick. Do the same in the altezza and everything feels a little lack luster.

Pretty sure the "lazy" 6's are the 1gfe (2ltr) not the 3ltr 2jz engine from the gita

wow, the 1gfe must feel like a snail then, cause I was a little dissapointed with the 2jz compaired to the 3vz.
But I'm looking at this car for more than how the engine 'feels'.
Someone must use one of these to tow heavy things :?
