Police guidelines for speed enforcement wrote:When enforcement is taking place in an area where drivers are making the transition from a higher speed to a lower speed area, vehicles should not be targeted within 250 (two hundred and fifty) metres from the point where the speed limit changes unless there are good reasons to do so, such as protecting people operating at road works or to ensure the safety of children. (This does not apply within school zones.)

We are all old and ugly enough to know the rules, we've been pushing them since we could crawl, but surely by now people would stop crying when they get punished for pushing said boundaries.
I'm not saying I drive to the rules all the time, (not even close) but if I was doing 67km/h BEFORE I went past the 100km/h signs, then I KNOW i'm breaking the law. Cranky cop or not, if you break ANY rule in ANY way, then you should not complain about being FAIRLY fined. People that think this should not be the case give "car enthusiasts" a bad name as much as boy racers do.
Just my 2c above, but I think the politically correct nature of NZ is turning people into pussies that do nothing but moan
