why wouldn't you expect it from me?? controversal, obnoxious....... did i, or did i not recieve a TRD T-shirt and some rally tyre jackets for similar forum behaviour?????

TRD Man wrote: with no technical inspection Saturday night, and as the Tech Dept did not apply seals pre-event, unless the car was plucked off the finish ramp on Sunday there's no way of knowing what was in it.

were the NZRC cars subject to a technical inpection Saturday nite, or were the Dept. waiting til after Sunday???
Masons are a formidable team, no doubt about it. but to also smoke guys that know how to set there cars up for the control tyre and have used them many times since the inception seems a bit suspect too many including Pirelli technicians.

to be honest, mason can drive the nuts off any one in nz
and a large majority of foreigners, he's proved that more often than just last weekend  and im sure he also has had plenty of experience on those tyres.
so theres's no real mystery or conspiracy

I was using a Fuji Finepix S5700. Had it set on manual the whole event. Seems way easier that way.

I had a final count up last night 583 pics 53 vids. Thought I had more videos but maybe not.

Will be putting some more up, got a nice pic of the Nissan 240RS in the older class.

I got the choice of petrol vouchers or flights to Hamilton. I decided to drive down as Im only in Auckland so I got $150 petrol vouchers for my troubles. They also flew my lady friend up from Christchurch. Two nights accommodation in a 4 star hotel (saw the bill when we signed out $690!!) All meals & drinks (if it was on the menu you could have it, same went for alcohol) There was not limit to what you could have. Everything was laid on for us, absolutely everything. We got taken around the stages in a small bus (about 25 seater) by a coule of guys from M Sport. They were really cool & informative. They were telling us that a basic service on the focus (change all four corners, fluids, bumpers etc) cost 80,000 pounds!! If they have to replace the gear box you can double the cost of the service! The clutch pack was a cool 25,000 pounds. Insane numbers in anyones books.

All I can say is next year buy as much BP Ultimate as you can because you'll win the same thing but it's in Australia & it'll be a damn sight warmer than the Waikato LOL

Exactly this nissan yes.

Sport setting is fine on the fuji but it takes too long to decide what settings it will use. So I set manually and left it at that. (There is probably some camera guru on here laughing their head off about us talking about our point and shoots :)

I also used the sports setting on my Panasonic TZ3 to get my rally shots.
Figured out how to use the burst mode on it which is a must have for motorsport photography. Hold the button down, follow the car & you're guaranteed to get a couple of decent shots.
Wouldn't mind a digital SLR. I've used my dad's Nikon D80 & its amazing, but I cant really justify spending that much on a camera for the amount I use mine though.

That was kinda why i bought mine. It was $229, had 10x optical and was a 7.1mp. Honestly never thought I'd use it as I never did with my film cameras. But having memory is cool cos you just shoot as often as you can in the right spots and you get some really nice pictures. You also were never able to tell how good your picture was going to be on film but with digital you can at least make sure the white balance, iso etc is right.

Going from a good dslr camera (borrowed) to my shirt pocket Canon IXUS is driving me a bit spare. I can "see" all these great shots, and they come out looking fuzzy and washed out.

I feel the need to own a camera like b1's, as that's 1/3 the price of a dslr, and will for me achieve 95% of what I would achieve with one 8)

However, I spent way too much on the car, and going to the rally in the last month, so no camera for me soon.
