ae111 ecu problem?

Postby Caribeena » Mon Sep 08, 2008 5:24 pm

Ok, cars is an ae111 carib BZ (4age blacktop) whihc been using bit more gas lately even after replacing the oxy-sensor... so thought I'd run the diagnostics and nothing came up.
used the repair manual and tested resistance etc of oxy-sensor and knock sensor and all is fine.
However when testing voltage in the diagnostics box for oxy-sensor, voltage does not change.

Could this mean an ecu replacment? or for what other reason would it be consuming more gas and running rich?

Cheers,
Mike

Mine did the same thing on the diagnostics box test, and the voltage is not fluctuating as it should according to the repair manual.

Now my symptons are not increase in fuel consumption, but random flatspots. This happens when the car is cold or warmed. it just happens out of no where. It usually go away after driving for 10ks or something, otherwise i just reset the ECU and the problem is gone.

I've ordered a new oxy sensor too from a toyspeeder! and hope that fix the problem, otherwise i will rip out the ECU and do the tests on it to see if the ECU is faulty! Have you tired testing the ECU according to the manual?

See if any other people have any other suggestions.
