gps for alteza

has any one been able to make use of the factory jap pop up type screen on a altezza can u buy a disk or anything can i use the tv for nz
any ideas or just replace

okay thats kool also there apears to be a cd stuck in the cd player and says error3 or sumthing any ideas how to get it out

short answer, it's buggered.
pull it out of the dash, but use a screw driver to wedge the thing apart...

There is a guy in Aussie that resets them and gets CDs out of them for ~$200 from memory... but umm, it'd only cost you about that to replace it with a no-name headunit.

For 2 large you'd get a jvc cd+mp3 player!

someone on the altezza forum mentioned that this is actually not such an easy thing to do.

The speakers are an oddity(something about ohms), and may need replacing at the same time, so $200 isn't going to go far if you have to include them.

Also, a fascia(the stereo surround bit), is ~$90 from toyota, and the $30 trademe ones are off in colour slightly.
