Toyspeed's Fastest Cars

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Fri Sep 19, 2008 8:57 pm

Has anyone thought about having a thread for people to brag about how fast their car is?

I'm thinking something along the lines of a sticky thread in the projects section which only mods can update, with various categories - highest power output for particular engines, fastest 1/4 mile, track times etc...

and obviously proof of the time or hp would be needed, with the top 5 or 10 being listed.

whats everyone think? :?

I think ive brought this up before, but ended up starting a thread specifically for 4agtes.
there has been the profiles section but that is very rarely used and is a bad layout anyway.

this has been stolen off nissansilvia.co.nz as an example; if the mods are the only ones who can post in it there wouldn't be so many irrelavant posts...

the downside is it would be extra work for the mods... :(

I reckon it's a great idea. It should create a healthy/friendly competition amongst club members. Not to mention a bit more motivation to get those extra bits done to your cars for that extra 10th of a sec shaved off your times.

Ask for the profiles "scoreboard" to be re-enabled then. Barry's king of the table and I didn't think that was 2 years ago 8O

If you had a time on there I'm pretty sure you could still update it? My old car was once 2nd on the list

If more people are keen on this idea, I could create a post in the projects section perhaps, and have people PM me their results.

Those categories gonna be ok? Dont need to be broken up into FWD and RWD?

I would like the idea of circuit times (Taupo, manfiled, pukekohe), but Its prob a bit hard to prove your time unless you run a in car timer like me :). Or do it on a race day with a installed transponder.

my 10s run was put up there like 1.7years+ ago.

Yeah, track times can get real messy...would need to seperate it into race cars vs road cars vs road cars on semi slicks vs slicks as well as the displacement classes.

Yeah but how many people actually set lap times here vs those who are all talk and no action? I reckon put them all together because some quick street cars could actually be faster than race cars on some occasions.
