Replacing speedo cable on AE92

Postby KwS » Tue Sep 23, 2008 6:01 pm

Hi. Yes, i have searched but didnt manage to find much on this subject.

How hard is it to change the speedo cable on an AE92? Does the dash have to come out, or can i just take the cluster out and feed the new cable through?

How much is a new cable also?

the speedo cable can be broken into 2 pieces in the engine bay. do that then just pull the cluster out allong with the cable

unscrew the speedo cable and get someone to spin it by hand while you watch the speedo. If it flicks then that half is working. Same with the gearbox end. remove that and spin it, see if both ends turn. Chances are the lower half is broken.
