most aftermarket computers can not control the auto trans(it would add massively to development cost if the software developers had to work out how to interface with different brands and models of trans, and then replicate the fuzzy logic that determines shift patterns, stall convertor lock up,shift quality etc)so installers tend to piggy back an ECU over a factory trans, allowing the aftermarket one to control fuel and timing, and the factory one to continue to control the auto trans.
unlike the 1jzgte, the 2jzgte has no line pressure cable connected from the trans to the throttle body, which means the line pressure is controlled by the factory ECU. without this electronic control, the 2jz trans will burn out quite quickly under spirited driving.
