Making engine mounts a little more robust

Postby cat007 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 8:34 am

Hey all,

My engine mounts appear fine, but the engine does rock around a bit and thought it'd be nice to mount the engine a little firmer.

Here's what they look like:

The bolt doesnt go all the way through - it's offset on each side.

Suggestions? :)

you thought about converting to the 89+ subframe?
that way you could use the JZA80 insulators. much nicer and more relaible.

I haven't thought about it to be honest. Subframes are quite pricey arent they?

Urethane the engine mounts.

Makes them nearly solid.

about $40-50 a mount, got to take your original mounts to Plus Plastics and they can redo them.
