3SGTE Gen 2 and Gen 3 block differences

Postby Adamal » Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:55 pm

Does anyone here know what the differences between Gen 2 and Gen 3 3SGTE blocks are?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

2 piece sump, reallocated oil filter.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

They sure are chaps..

If anyone wants some pics ( needs updateing ) adydas.net has photos of my gen2 3sgte and a gen3 3sge all with matching bore size, oil gall, water gall etc etc.

Only differences appear to be the sump and the relocated oil filter from what i had detirmined. If theres somthing more im dieing to know but a 3sgte gen2 head gasket fits onto a gen3 3sge with no questions so galleries etc are all a match.

theres also thin and thick wall gen3 bocks - whether that makes any difference - Luck of the draw what gets what with the wall thicknesses

Gen4 block is considerably chunkier
