Ok,
So I have a AE82 FX with a 4AGZE in it that I bought in pretty poor condition. Part of fixing it up is tackling the FMIC piping it has.

When I bought it, 'interferance fit' is the best way to describe it. In fixing it, I'm trying to work out the best way to have clean joints/connections (shit was on whack angles and stuff).

On one side, its sweet - using 2" piping and a 3"->2" reducer on the inlet of the IC. On the other side, a 90deg bend is required, as well as a reduction to 2" from 3". The previous setup had a 3"->2" reducer and some roughly measured 2" pipe jammed in on a bad angle and 'she'll be right'.

Now since I want everything to work out, I can either:

Have a 3" 90deg bend connect to the outlet, which pokes into the engine bay where I use 1" or so of 3" alloy tube as a connector between the bend and a 3"->2" reducer which then connects to the 2" piping.

Option 2, use the existing 3"->2" reducer, buy some more alloy piping and have someone awesome like distrb weld it up so that it all sits properly and not on shitty angles.

The advantage to option 1, is I only need to buy a 90deg bend, and can do it myself. The disadvantage is that a decent section of the charge piping is larger than the rest of the piping (it is all 2" except for the IC inlets/outlets at this stage). Would that be a problem?

The advantage to option 2, is that it all is a lot cleaner, however the disadvantage is in requiring someone to fabricate modifications to the existing piping at expense of time to myself and whomever.

So after all that, I guess my question is: will having a decent section of 3" in a 80% 2" charge system be a problem?

why dont i just use the existing reducer and a 90deg 2" pipe bend and then a single 2" joiner to the existing piping shortened.
