How did this go yesterday, did anyone from here actually go?
I had pre-arranged to double run a car but circumstances changed up here so couldn't go

One word....... HUGE!!!
With one of the biggest entry lists since the inception of this event, a large contingent of Dunedin and Christchurch drivers bolstered regular local entries to keep the team very busy during the day.
The event started with the field split into two groups to tackle the Auto-X courses. The first course was a fairly tight blat around the lower section of the track, while the second course was a fairly brisk sprint around the top loop. These tests were designed as a bit of a leveller for the drivers/cars and 10-15 seconds difference separated most of the feild over these two coures. Former SCCC member, Carl Vaughan won the first test outright, with a hard-charging Phil Winter taking the second.
After a late lunch break, standing 1/4 Mile and Go-to Whoa were contested on the front and back straights, again, the times at the top were very close with Daniel Anderson (in his father's rally Evo3) winning the 1/4 Mile and Phil Winter taking out the Go-to-Whoa.
With time working heavily against us, the day was finished off with flying timed laps of the full circuit.

Whilst there was many 'competition' prepared cars present, a gaggle of double-run Hondas that kept these guys honest, and it was Carl Vaughan using Reuben Yorks wee Civic that topped the overall timesheets for the day, followed by Phil Winter and David Anderson. The fastest 'street car' went to Chris Thompson, followed by Ross Mckay then John Dickie in his WRX.

special thanks to the team from the MR2 club (some of which are on here) for turning up with good numbers on and off the track, as well as Racheal from MSport for giving mea hand to pack up the 1/4 mile and helping to set up the circuit sprint. it is envisaged that the club display section of the event can only grow to bigger and better things.

no thanks to the muppets that thought they could drift and spent a good portion of the day doing donuts, and showing off to there retarded mates on the bank.

full apologies from me for not managing to get through all the runs we had hoped for, but muppets above, did not help our cause when others needed re-runs due to them.

to those who had hoped for more timed circuit runs............................. watch this space.
