4 n Rotor- Would this interest you?

Postby yraceu » Thu Nov 13, 2008 8:30 pm

Evening All

I am currently doing some work with the judging team and organisers of 4 and Rotary

A suggestion has been put forward to consider that within the current "Best Of Make" trophy classes, that we may get more competitor interest if the categories were broken up to specific models ie "Best Primera/ Skyline/Silvia/Civic/ Evolution/ Impreza"

Now there would be some rules such as minimum 5 cars to make a trophy awardable, but it could also become very "club orinetated" with the larger clubs perhaps taking a role in sponsoring such an award.

It was pointed out that Nissan for example has produced NFULFX, EVLR32 & 2TMPTU which would be hard for most to compete with, so this may re-introduce a competiton element for people not wanting to go to very extreme levels?

thoughts or feedback please.

Possibly a good idea, could be quite messy for the organisers though!
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

couldnt you just do some sort of class system like for the drags.

pro (sponsored cars, daddys boys/girls and promotional)

street (street driven, non sponsored)

rookie (just started, low budget)

etc

i dunno, would be alot easier to do something like that

A bit hard to draw a line though with categories like that. I mean are you going to start putting price limits on? how can you prove someones parents funded their projects etc etc.

Awards per manufacturer is something new so could be a goer.

Would stop you aiming to build something unique though wouldn't it?

No point in a Subaru SVX, or something else a bit odd.

Maybe
Standard (no Mods) instead of Rookie?
Modified (Bolton Mods) instead of street?

way too many trophies given out as it is!

if you were going to do it the idea of classes rather than car types would be better in my opinion.
