Something a bit different?

Postby NILPSI » Sun Nov 16, 2008 11:17 pm

Hey all,

At last weeks meet Brad, Richard and Myself went for a drive over to watch the fireworks from my boss' driveway, we had a ball driving over to see them and somebody made a really good point that we should actually do something a bit more umm.... car related?

So thought for this weeks meet we could get some food to go and head off to somewhere a bit different to eat it, just try and get away from the normal as we dont really do anything with our cars anymore except drive to get food :?

Just a suggestion, anybody keen?

Garage skids at Richy's?

But seriously, the idea of doing something car related sounds silly enough it may just make sense.. think cap is now on :D

Good point, on the topic of car stuff what about a convoy over to the drags for those watching or racing? I am intending on racing, I have no sticky tyres for the Skyline so won't race that - but I'll probably race the daily as I am clearly obsessed. How about you?

Who else is keen for a trip over the hill this weekend?

And yes that was me in the paper, I assume you are talking about Manawatu standard?

Campbell live wanted to have me on tonights show on nasty spiders as well hahaha.... I politely declined.

If you wanted to come down as far as Levin on 23rd November, there's a grasskhana there.

So you will need $20, car, ROAD tyres only (no rally tyres, 4x4 offroad, snow tyres).

Don't need helmet + overalls.

Donnelly Park 9:30am.

It's not billiard table smooth by any stretch of the imagination, so if you've got low front spoilers, don't bring them, you'll never even get in the driveway.

The event is being run by Harbour Capital Car Club, but is for anyone who wants to have a crack.

One thing that is punishable by death is driving stupid outside the venue. Every time I publish one of our events anywhere, there's always some dork who comes through Levin at 80kph, or does wheelies away from the venue. So, if anyone comes near the event, and does anything even faintly like that, I'm going to be onto the police with a number plate faster than you can say "car confiscated for 28 days".

Would be keen but my BMW is sick :'(

She's got problems with the ABS. Thankfully I got an AA Warranty when I bought her.
