sump prep for new engine?

Postby deaf_rattle » Sun Nov 23, 2008 8:03 pm

I have had my sump hot tanked, but wondering what to do with it now.

I have thought about getting it winged and baffled, but ill probably hold off that for now and get that sorted later.

what should i do to the surface of the sump? i will need to get it hot tanked again as it has minor surface rust on it now, but should i paint the inside of it? or not bother?

any info would be great.

cheers

wouldn't put any paint on the inside, as where will it go if it flakes off?

Why did you get it hot tanked in the first place?
Normally you just clean and paint the outside and just clean the rest with petrol?

Just use some high temp engine paint.
As you prob want to get it baffled at some stage! so it would be a waste to pay for pro coating.
