Only if your car is underpowered. Our 328i coupe has no problem overtaking and traversing hills.

Just about any auto has the option of pulling it back to any gear you like as far down as second.

I didn't really find the same overtaking issues being reported since you have to ream the f*ck out of a bluetop to overtake, even with a manual

I also found it more comfortable, economical and easier. Being able to eat and drive rules.

if you cant nurse a biggie cup, stuff your face with a burger, and do a three point in a manual your a woman :D

No way - the kick down + the torque and auto can throw down makes auto's + turbo's amazingly fun :)

Ive got a auto GS300 (JZS147) and its currently n/a. And i love it! Im one of those people who swore never to own an auto. My last daily was auto (P11 primera) and it was crap. Bad changes, having no torque makes is annoying. But im glad my lexus is auto, its 100x better than a manual one imo. Altho i would never want either my RC or MR2 auto. Its just wrong.

I plan to eventually convert mine to GTE, and it will definately be staying auto.

New work hack is an auto, no more frills or niceties for me ;)

Driving around town is so easy, cruising down the m'way is a piece of cake and best of all, it's cheaper to run than the Pulsar could ever have dreamt of being.

my corolla is auto, it's good, can just cruise and talk to mates in the back, or touch the thighs of that girl in the passenger seat, if I drive manual I can't feel the girlies up :(

At the end of the day, its a matter of if you think its worth having it as auto or not. You're the one going to be driving it, not us!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

As long as the car has plenty of torque Auto's are'nt to bad.The Aristo your looking at if it has the 2JZ in it will be every bit as good as a manual its the motor that makes the difference especially with the JZ in it there's torque all over the place so the Auto vs Manual won't be as much of an issue you can cruise and when you do go to over-take there will be no problems it'll just get up and go because of all the torque.

My Supra everyone asks me when I'm going to throw the manual at it but with sub 1.16s around Manfield looking like a distinct possibility in the Auto next year Auto it will stay......... :D
