Sounds weird that it wont let them tune for boost.
Are you running ms1 or ms2?

You can find the latest ms1/extra software herehttp://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Manual_Index.htm

Check in megatune. can go to msq info and check the version of the .msq you are using.
or using portchecker.exe

The standard map sensor on the v2.2 or v3 should take up to 21psi.
Did you build it? buy it prebuilt? or get it second hand?

The page I showed you was for the ms1 cpu. heres the one for the ms2.
http://www.msextra.com/ms2extra/index.html

Youll need to know which cpu you have.
If you pull the top cover off the ecu youll see a 40 pin socket which will either have a black chip (MS1) or a small board with a couple of chips and components on it (MS2) fitted to it.

The ms2 looks like this http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/

ok pulled it apart. looks like the board has one long rectaNGULAR BLACK CHIP. the board says on it megasquirt v3 MB. and then theres another board that says msns_extra daughterboard v2. does this make any sense to you. oh and i bought the car with the megasquirt already in it. i looked on the tuning chart that the tuner brought up and it only goes to 100kpa,same with spark chart. does this mean i need a different kind of map sensor. this computer is confusing the shit outa me

Ok so you will have the ms1 ecu. And it will be running ms1Extra software found at the first link I posted.

The msns-extra daughterboard is an extra board thats been fitted to give your ecu extra features such as boost control, launch control, VR input etc.

On the fuel and spark tables you can actually set the RPM and map values to whatever you want. 100kpa is zero boost, below that the manifold is under vacum, above 100kpa is boost. Make sure the numbers on the kpa scale go past 100kpa or you wont be able to tune for boost.
Eg http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Tuning_Manual.htm#sparkmap

The other thing is that it may have been setup for Alpha-N (tps vs Rpm instead of map vs rpm).

This link from the manuals may help. http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Tuning_Manual.htm#VESetts

Any chance you could post up the .msq?

When you save a backup of your ecu tune to the laptop it saves it as a .msq file. It will contain all the settings, fuel/spark tables etc.

If you could get a recent .msq and post it up or email it to me I can have a quick look over it for you.

If you cant find where theyre saved just go into megatune with the ecu connected and go to 'save as' and save it to the desktop or something
