Wtf? Handbrake light coming on

I would of thought fluid or the little switch at the hand brake to be at blame

things that can bring the handbrake light on -

- the handbrake
- the fluid level sensor

one of those will be causing it

Yeah im never going back there, i asked for hi temp front brake pads, which was all good, but they didnt think of putting good fluid in & put lesser than what was origionally in there.

how do YOU know what sort of fluid was used and wether it is good or bad? it's simply a float switch in the reservoir, it can't magically detect the quality of brake fluid in there.

take a photo of the reservoir with the cap and strainer removed and post it here. either the fluid is too low or the float is stuck at the bottom of it's travel.

Cause I asked what sort of fluid they put in, it was dot 3, what ever there house brand is, i.e the stuff they put in little old granny's cars.

I've replaced the fluid at least twice since then, last time was early this year, both times with castrol dot 4
