Does anyone know how to install brakes into a car where you disable ABS? is it a re plumb lines job? remove a fuse job? or somthng else.

a lot depends on the car. if you are planning to completely remove the ABS pump etc then i would imagine new lines (or at least a joining section) would be the way to go, depending on how its plumbed!

most 90s jap stuff the brakes are sort of independent of the ABS pump (so the brakes still work if the pump leaks / $&#$% out)

but a lot of newer stuff the pump seems to be more integrated in the system.

I reckon it might be easier to pilfer another ST18x for the lines from a non abs. Electrics shouldnt be hard since you have the Motec.

To do it legally you have to remove everything associated with ABS (Pump, sensors, module etc etc) and have a sticker on the dash that states ABS has been disabled.

Really? My first car (ST162 GTR) had ABS disconnected. Pump was still there, and had a LVVTA cert for it.

I had this discussion with an LVVTA certifier a couple of weeks back. Was it actually stamped on the plate that the ABS had been removed?

Yeah it said ABS disabled/removed or something like that. Was certed for the removal only, car was stock otherwise. Was certed back in 2002 iirc tho, maybe rules have changed?

im more stuck on the mechanical side of things, i have done the engeneering work, i have the parts i have spoke and cleared with my Cert guy whats the happs my issue is there is a line from the hub back to the abs unit i guess this is a sender.. Perhaps i dont need to remove ABS if im installing bigger brakes it seems ok that i can just wire the line from the old 2pot into the new 4 pot as simply as that..

Yes. You use them when putting ST205 brakes onto a ST185 because theres no thread to screw a bolt in.
