ie, a diplomatic way of saying "If you completely fail at the driving". They hardly have enough torque to pull the skin off a rice pudding.

Now thats not fair, once they get to 7500rpm they pull nicely
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Funnily enough I sold my 01 RunX for an 01 Altezza... the sound isn't as good, but it has far less traction issues.

i actually found the altezza a blast to drive through the parapara's (road between wanganui and ratehi) all 80-90kms of really whindy road. and enough torque to pull up the hills out of tight corners in 4th, probably cause i carry my speed well around corners, but i was suprised. i find it more fun than a std fwd, but not as fun as my levin haha

I havent driven an Altezza, but my ae101 with buggered superstrut and TRD coilovers is quite uncomfortable, especially on our crap rural roads.

Also don't get one with a sunroof if you want any kind of headroom...

Pricewise, spec for spec the tezzas seem a bit more pricey though. Does it go as well?

maybe it's just be, i'm sure some decent suspension/swaybars would help that though

Tyres make a difference there.

I found that with mine when I had Goodyear GSD3's on the back/ I'm now running Kuhmo's and find that while the will start to let go slightly earlier, they are mich more controllable when they do so.

I sold an 01 RunX with 115km for $11k(I think), and I paid $14500 for the Altezza with 108km.

Goes about the same, bottom end is fine round town, top end is good for a blat, both can break legal speed limits in second gear(just).

If I had both to choose from today, the Altezza would certainly get it, although I keep looking at the new Yaris RS with the 1.8 dual vvti...
