Suspension Compatibility [ AE92/101/111 ]

I have just aquired an AE92 Corolla GT Sedan and i'm about to embark on a long journey to getting it immaculate as it once was.

One of the first things I am tackling is the suspension,

Are the shocks and springs a straight bolt on between AE92/101/111? Obviously the springs will be a different rate as the cars do not weigh the same but I wanted to make sure that I could fit shocks from a later model Corolla into mine.

this has been covered a couple of times if you search, from memory the front struts are pretty similar (when i put AE111 stuff in my 92 the bracket that holds the brakeline was different) but the rears take some mixing and matching.

I tried this with an EE90 corolla hatch and AE110 corolla. I assume the AE92 and EE90 are similar suspension wise.

What I found
front suspension: the ee90 uses heavier swaybar and softer springs than the ae110. The whole ae110 leg will bolt into the ee90, but it will sit really high in the front. the shocks are interchangeable though. I couldn't swap over the whole suspension subframe (can't remember how they were different, only that they were)

rear suspension: the rear spring diameters were different at the base. iirc, I couldn't swap over the whole leg either

And superstrut and non superstrut dont mix, but superstrut is fronts only iirc?

They are all interchangable between these models.
Only the brackets for brake lines etc are different.

hmm im pretty sure people have run into problems with the rear stuff bazda, but i guess i could be wrong. personally i've only tried it with front suspension, which all seems to switch between models pretty easily.

rear struts are different overall lengths, wont be an issue unless your using the longer ones (ae111 iirc) and lowered springs, anything more than 30mm lower and you may have issues
and i think the ae92 lower spring seat is different, wont fit ae101 onwards springs
and the aforementioned brake hose bracket

I was talking about swapping the whole suspension leg over. Not springs etc.

I'm just saying they will all bolt up to the car and work. Maybe you cant interchange parts though.
