I like the look of this, if I was to buy a ke36, what sort of engine could i put in without having to mod the firewall and/or the gearbox tunnel. I was thinking the 3sge beams, 4age turbo, sr20? any help would be appreciated

How much can you do yourself?

If you can do the conversion yourself i'm sure you can make anything fit.

Otherwise if you're paying someone to do it, have a big wallet and a very understanding mrs :lol:

i wana do all of it myself, just get someone to make me some engine mounts, I've got a mate who's a engine reconditioner and a mate who's a auto electrician, and I've got a bit of knowledge myself. Has any1 done the 3sge beams in a 36? would the firewall or tunnel need to be cut and re fab'd?

4age (16V) will def be the easiest and cheapest, can get ae86 engine and box set ups for max $1500, buy pre fabd mounts for like $100ish, wire up, mod d shaft and your done really. 20v about the same but have to cut box in firewall for dizzy or convert to a individual coil set up and after market comp

dont put a SR20 in cuz we all no cross breeding is uber gay

and from what iv heard 3sges are the run bearing kings when run north south, unless using an altezza engine of coarse

haha yea ive never been a fan of cross breeding, and after looking at the specs of the sr20 im not keen at all. and if I was going to do the 3sge i would put the beams out of the altezza in, theres one with a box on trademe for 2750, and I have never heard of 1 with that engine in. not really keen on the 4age ay, to common for me. Id rather spend the extra coin and have something unique, I just need to know if it would fit?

Will defantly fit, as for 20v they are easy to convert to rwd, jsut run the dizzy off the front of the motor with the leads in reverse and the cas still attached in the standard location

i think the problem with 3s is the height, a mate is putting one in a ae85 and the sump is like 60mm from the ground and thats with the big black plastic cam cover thing off too

It's not like an engine needs fuel or anything to run.... :roll:

you CAN fit a 1g or other supra motor in without recessing fierwall.. it is VERRY close fit however. google it, thea is a few of them around, mostly in aus and the stats however, a 1uz or small block v8 will also fit, it all depends how keen you are, 4a is by far the easyist, 3s can be done and has been done a few times. 2t and 3t is getting hard to find parts for (trust me) but thea is a full setup in otago or somthing i think on tm,

7k is a good one, IF you can find one..
