Low ratio G Series Diff - What is there out there?

Postby MrOizo » Wed Jan 14, 2009 7:56 pm

Looking for the crown and pinion for a G series diff.

Looking for something in the vicinity of 3.2-3.6
Is there something out there that matches this?

Cheers.

I though low ratio was the other way,

5.88 etc etc.

a 3.2 is geared for high speed isn't it?

3.7 is the lowest but that is as hard as hell to find!!

Jaws Gear in the US does a custom made 3.5:1 but it is not cheap.

That is the reason I went to an Auto rather than trying to mess with the 6 speed.

an outfit in the US made a really low CWP for the G housing for a local club car 5.4:1? was a reasonable price, probably cheaper than Toyota for and off the shelf ratio.
can't see any reason why a really tall gear would be any more expensive

3.7s are the most common of the lot....as there in most automatic models. I just swapped my one for a 4.5 (drag racing spare) and a 3.7 is in the car for gas saving

But from factory 3.7 is the best you will get, you will have to put up with having no first gear lol
