i have now added a cd-ub100 usb adaptor to the p80rs which allows me to play mp3s off a usb source, allowing me to run up to a 250gb harddrive, and have it controlled through the stereo controls

i learnt my leason on tuesday!

*Always make sure that your amps are bolted down correctly and Earth cables wont disconnect*

What happend was when the LVV Certifier did the emergency brake test my amp's earth disconnected, it tryed to earth via the rca cables into my 3 week old headunit causing it to crap its self..

Took it back to MAD Sounds and they explained what it would have done, now $600 for a new headunit later i feel abit stupid..
Still need another amp but will be ripping my car apart and redoing all of my cables this weekend

currently running:

Digital Designs DDC 6.2 6" components up front running off Alpine MRP-F242 amp
Digital Designs tweeters
stock speakers out back
Alpine CDA-9887 heady

Still havn't decided what sub/amp combo to use ... was thinking of going big with DD 9512 sub and E-Audio 3000D amp ... too much though? Any thoughts?

Sound deadening will come in time ...

DD and Eaudio are dead in NZ at the mo.
If you were going for a sub and amp combo from what was available from DD and Eaudio, then the 35xx series and 1000D would have been about right for the system.

Emperor wrote:In car -
Panasonic iPod ready heady
Alpine DDDrive 6.5 components (front)
Kenwood 6.5 co-axials (rear doors)
Eaudio 1000D (sub amp)
Atomik MA10 (sub)

Wanky on shelf list -
Pioneer TSW3001D4 Competition Sub
DLS UP6 6.5 components

If I don't sell it, I will eventually replace the DDDrive's with the UP6's and get them amped, and put Pioneer sub in with proper inclosure. It was in the car, but kept poppin fuses until I put on a bigger ground wire on the amp, but still would make lights dim with every bass note, so will get better power cable next.

Sorry for bumpage...

Is there some thing special about this sub?

Im running in on a 1000w rms mono block and its nothing special...

Am i missing some thing?

bbq1988 wrote:Hey guys, what do you have installed in your car?

I have a small yet tidy setup that hasnt cost me alot of money and puts out good sound :)

Head Unit: Panasonic 5403w cd/mp3/aux/3rca preout's
Speakers: Fusion Encounter 6.5" Splits

both sets of encounters are run off an old 4ch sony amp and sound mint.

I Currently have a 12" MTX sub and pioneer Monoblock amp running, but have just purchased a Focal 13" 400w RMS Sub and MTX 6500d mono block (Off trademe ofcourse, stuff paying the price for new components of this spec!) , Hopefully that will throw the bass abit better

Update: I Purchased my self a pioneer 6050UB and a Fusion 600w x4 amp (for the speakers) after my 4050UB Died :( almost complete, now i just have to rewire all of the doors with some better cable.. yay..
