Are you replacing the crank pulley or the one on the supercharger?

The norm is to replace the crank along with the tensioner for the supercharger for clearance.

The subject makes it sound like your playing with the supercharger pulley...

You dont have to/need to remove the supercharger to replace the crank pulley.

are you direct driving the supercharger with a smaller pulley?

on the front of the s/c is a black cover held on with 4x 8mm head bolts
behind this is the clutch mechanism and a bolt in the center, it can be undone in place if its a loose fit it will come off, if its tight the s/c will need to come out

if however you have a 165mm pulley you replace the crank pulley, the larger diameter spins the s/c faster
to do this you dont take the s/c off

can you be more specific as to what pulley you are changing?
or what is the size, is it 90mm or 165-175mm?
cheers

my understanding was the normal procedure is to change the crank pulley to give more boost from these chargers?

Yep thats the normal way but on the SC14 conversion onto other motors its easier to fit a smaller pulley to the supercharger which effectively does the same thing. But all the smaller pulleys I've seen have just been a normal pulley ie no clutch, so its on all the time.

Infact Im pretty sure there are 2 different diameter supercharger clutch pulley's, the later ones being smaller.

His is alerady an ae101 gtz so will have the smaller sc pulley anyhow.
I think I saw somewhere that you can buy just the sc pulley which is smaller. To me is would still be quote difficult to take the setup off with the SC in place.

Easier to just get a bigger crank pulley!

These dudes sell clutched and fixed pulleys for the SC12 and SC14.

I'd want to do it with the S/C removed though.

to boost anything over standard yup.

its a biarch and you need to make blankers, investigate doing that while the SC is out.

removing the SC, man I hate that job, you have to dismantle the whole intake side, and it all comes off in a sequence.
