To cut a long story short, im in Aus and my mr2 is in Wellington. Its been in storage and wont start (pretty sure its the alternator according to my old man). Thing is im getting it moved back to our home garage but they cant get it to turn over - even after trying to jump it/charging the battery. The alarm is causing the problem i think - as according to Mum ' its dead'. Im guessing the imobilizer is stopping it. Its a mongoose alarm if that helps. How can I get around this? Need some help asap please!

Much appreciated,

Ryan.

You could get it towed home.

All of this i know - its mainly cause its my mum doing it lol. I could get it towed, but due to some pretty serious personal circumstances my fam has like 0 cash to spare. Sigh.

First thing I would be doing is putting a GOOD battery into it. Jump starting and charging a dead battery will not get you much luck.

as well as putting a good battery in the immobiliser fob if applicable.

seconded, so worth 4c now.

i've tried jump starting cars with dead batteries, and the car is still "dead" even when hooked up to a second car. and I mean dead as in indicators / dash lights won't even come on when hooked up to the second car...
